What to Expect

A Clear Pathway Through Healing and Integration

Safety and Stabilisation

Emotional regulation, coping skills, establishing internal and external safety.

Trauma Processing

Revisiting and processing traumatic memories using methods like EMDR, narrative therapy, or cognitive processing. Clients can engage with memories at a pace that feels safe—many techniques don’t require sharing every detail aloud.

Reconnection

Rebuilding identity, reconnecting with others, restoring meaning, and creating a life beyond trauma. This may include relational healing, advocacy, or personal growth.

How Therapy Works

What to Expect From Your First Contact

We start with a free 20–30 minute consultation call. This is a chance for us to learn more about what you’re looking for and how we can help—and for you to ask questions and get a sense of whether we’re the right fit.

From your very first session, we focus on building trust, consent, and a sense of emotional safety. You set the pace and have full autonomy over what you choose to share. We uphold strict confidentiality, only breaking it if there is a risk of harm to you or someone else.

Is This for You?

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy

Trauma Therapy
How long does trauma therapy take?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people benefit from a short series of sessions focused on stabilisation or skill-building, while others engage in longer-term therapy to explore and process complex trauma histories. We work collaboratively to set goals and review progress regularly. You’re always in control of the pace and duration.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people process distressing memories and reduce their emotional impact. It involves brief sets of bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) while you focus on a memory. You don’t need to go into detail to benefit. EMDR allows your brain to reprocess trauma so it no longer feels like a present threat.

The majority of our therapy sessions are delivered online via secure, encrypted video platforms. This ensures accessibility, flexibility, and comfort—particularly for individuals with busy schedules or those who feel safest in their own space.

In some cases, we may be able to offer in-person sessions depending on clinician availability and your location. If you’re interested in in-person therapy, please mention this during your consultation and we’ll explore whether it’s a feasible option.

Yes. While our standard session fee is £150, we offer sliding scale spaces at reduced rates for individuals who are unemployed or earning minimum wage. Availability for these spaces is limited, so we encourage early inquiry if this applies to you.

Not if you don’t want to. We follow a phased approach to trauma therapy, beginning with stabilisation and safety. When you’re ready to explore your trauma history, we’ll do so gently, using methods that don’t always require retelling every detail. Your consent, boundaries, and emotional safety guide the process at all times.

That’s completely okay. Many of our clients are new to therapy. We’ll take time to explain the process, answer your questions, and support you in feeling grounded and informed. Your first step is just a conversation—we’ll go from there together.
