My therapeutic approach

My approach to therapy is integrative, which means I use a blend of different approaches or techniques tailored to meet the specific needs of each service user. I draw from a diverse range of models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy. When deemed appropriate, which is often the case for the individuals I work with, I will offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). You can find out more about the therapeutic process here.

I have particular expertise in engaging individuals who have struggled to trust professionals and present with histories of complex trauma, personality difficulties, and offending behaviours. I am dedicated to creating a safe environment for individuals to explore their experiences, gain insights, and develop practical strategies for recovery.

I am particularly passionate about trauma-informed care and compassion-focused therapy. I recognise the profound impact of trauma and the importance of creating a safe space for service users to explore their experiences, gain insights, and develop practical strategies for recovery and resilience

In my work, I am committed to ongoing learning and development, ensuring that I remain culturally competent, adaptable, and trauma-informed in my practice. By continually refining my skills and knowledge, I aim to offer the highest standard of care and support to each individual I have the privilege to work with.

I work exclusively with adults.
